Course content
1. Educational policy as a scientific discipline (strategic documents of educational policy of the Czech Republic, organisations established by the Ministry of Education, actors of educational policy). 2. Equity in education (different conceptions of equity and equality of opportunity), forms and causes of inequalities, examples of interventions to reduce inequalities in education and their impact, diversity and selectivity. 3. Social/sociocultural disadvantage - its causes and consequences for the personality of the pupil, basic terminology, theories, approaches including current legislation. Support/support systems and assistance. 4. School as a specific organisation - functions of school, scenarios (models) of the future of school - retroactive view, school governance including financing system, main features of the educational system in the Czech Republic, CZ-ISCED 2011). 5. Evaluation in education (theory of quality and efficiency in education, subjects and objects of evaluation), evaluation of the education system, self-evaluation (involvement of actors, methods, interpretation of self-evaluation results) and external evaluation of schools (responsibility of CSI and school founders), linking self-evaluation and external evaluation, meta-evaluation. 6. Teacher profession and evaluation (professional development of teachers, evaluation of teacher quality, tools for evidence of professional performance, tools for professional development), de/professionalization of the teaching profession, DVU, including legislative conditions.

- describe and compare the strategic documents of the educational policy of the state about the current educational priorities of the Ministry of Education and Culture

explain the cooperation between the secondary school and the helping institutions

- define the concepts of school culture and climate, describe methods of ascertaining school culture and climate, describe the signs of a positive climate from the point of view of pupils, teachers, parents and the public
describe the current educational policy of the Czech Republic
- define the concept of evaluation and evaluation, the main actors
describe examples of education abroad
- justify the connection between self-evaluation and external evaluation, meta-evaluation
- explain different approaches to evaluating the quality of teachers' work
- explain the professional development of teachers (induction into the profession - induction, further education, lifelong learning)
- define effective forms of professional development for teachers (based on TALIS)
- explain action research as a tool for teachers' professional development

discuss learning, education and the teaching profession, informed by the context of educational theory, social pedagogy, educational theory, comparative pedagogy and educational policy
assess the possibilities of introducing innovation into teaching
propose innovations in their own teaching based on their pedagogical knowledge
- use tools for documenting professional performance, including a professional portfolio
- propose variants of the practical solution to the objectives of Strategy 2030+ from the teacher's point of view
- use examples to demonstrate the pros and cons of external differentiation in Czech education
