Course content
1. Culture and its basic attributes, the influence of culture on the formation of an individual's personality (the process of enculturation, acculturation, cultural / ethnic identity) 2. Intercultural communication area and its specifics 3. Prejudices and stereotypes, possibilities of their elimination 4. Principles of work with cultural diversity, development of intercultural competencies in assisting professions 5. Theory of social / socio-cultural handicap of current terminology, approaches in the Czech Republic and abroad 6. The issue of minorities and their position in the majority society, possibilities of effective integration 7. Specifics of work with minority, socially / socio-culturally disadvantaged (risk-at-risk) groups of children / pupils - ethnic minorities, children / pupils with a different mother tongue 8. Specifics of work with minority, socially / socio-culturally disadvantaged groups of children / pupils - children / pupils from a family environment with low socio-cultural status 9. Specifics of work with minority, socially / socio-culturally disadvantaged (at risk) groups of children / pupils Children / pupils threatened by socially pathological phenomena 10. Analysis and use of educational support measures for children / pupils with social / socio-cultural disadvantages, effective principles, work strategy 11. Support measures and programs of the state and non-profit sector for children / pupils with social / socio-cultural disadvantages in the Czech Republic and abroad 12. Analysis of model situations and case studies examples of good practice, recommendations for working with children / pupils with social / socio-cultural disadvantages
