Course content
Content: 1. Historical development and contemporary definition of special education of persons with visual impairment 2. Basic ophthalmological and ophthalmopedic terminology 3. Overview and classification of visual defects 4. Causes, manifestations and consequences of visual impairment 5. Characteristics of people with visual impairment 6. Diagnosis of people with visual impairment 7. Classification of people with visual impairment 8. Possibilities of therapy, compensation and rehabilitation for people with visual impairment

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 10 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 40 hours per semester

To introduce the basics of human biological, psychological and social development

To be able to apply theoretical knowledge from the fields of human biology and the basics of social sciences in the scope of the secondary school curriculum.
