Course content
Content: 1. The developmental specifics of children with visual impairment 2. Early care and support for a families with a visually impaired children 3. The upbringing and education of persons with visual impairment 4. Counselling, social services and comprehensive support for people with visual impairment 5. Possibilities of special intervention for people with visual impairment 6. Social integration and employment of people with visual impairment 7. Inclusive approaches to visually impaired and blind people in major society

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Presentation preparation (report) (1-10) - 10 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 60 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 10 hours per semester

To define the elementary ophthalmological and ophthalmopedic terms
To list and classify visual impairments and their consequencies
To present the possibilities of diagnostics, therapy, compensation and rehabilitation for people with visual impairment

To apply the elementary diagnostic criteria of visual impairments
