Course content
1. Introduction to Special Education, co-operating disciplines, basic terminology and structure of the field 2. Norma and normality in special education, individual relational approach to individuals with disabilities 3. History of the relationship of people with disabilities, the current paradigm of integration of special education 4. Specifics of personality and socialization of people with various disabilities 5. The issue of individuals with mental disabilities 6. The issue of people with sensory and speech disabilities 7. The issue of individuals with physical disabilities and long-term illness. 8. The issue of individuals with multiple disabilities and social disadvantage 9. Methods of diagnosis, intervention and prevention in special education

  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 30 hours per semester

Knowledge
The student has a basic overview of knowledge in human biology, philosophy and social sciences at the graduate level of secondary education.
learning outcomes
Students will be aware of the issue of social inclusion of people with special needs, in the terminology used and interdisciplinary contexts, the classification of defects and disabilities in the special education sub-disciplines. They will gain necessary attitudes to people with disabilities for performance in helping professions.
