Course content
1. The educational politics as the scientific branch (the strategic documents of the educational politics of the Czech Republic, the role directly managed organizations MŠMT, the applicants of the educational politics). 2. The equity in education and external differentiation (various interpretation of the equity and the equality of the opportunities, the examples of external differentiation in Czech education). 3. The Primery School as the social institution (function of present school, the script of school future according to OECD), the school as the specific organization, (characteristic, people behaviour in the organization, administration, school management). 4. The school culture (the definition of terms, the way of finding and the importance of school culture), the climate of the teaching staff, classroom, school environment (physical, organizational and socially cultural), culture of effective schools. 5. The evaluation in the education (the quality and efficiency theory in the education, the evaluation subjects and objects), the evaluation of the education system, autoevaluation (participants involving, methods, the result interpretation of autoevaluation) and the external school evaluation (the responsibility of ČŠI and school establishers, the connection of autoevaluation and external evaluation, metaevaluation. 6. The teacher´s profession and his/her evaluation (professionalization of teachers, evaluation of the teacher´s work quality, professional standards, instruments for giving evidence of professional performance), the teachers´ professional progress (induction, another education, lifelong education), the effective forms and the instruments of professional progress (TALIS), the legislative conditions DVU.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 25 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 20 hours per semester
  • Graduate study programme term essay (40-50) - 8 hours per semester

- knowledge basic pedagogy conceptions and category,
- to explain the pedagogy as the science in the historical and present context of the society,
- to evaluate possibilities of co-operation of the pedagogy with another scientific branches,
- to analyse the influence of society changes on raising and education and to be able to give reasons for their impact,
- to give reasons for the importance of the pedagogical research for theory and practice.
Skills
- to illustrate the utilization of pedagogical theory with examples from practice,
- to make use the specific pedagogical terms.

Knowledge
- to describe the development stage of the transformational process including the evaluation of the school system development,
- to clarify various interpretations of the equity and equality of opportunities,
- to define the role of different participants in educational politics, to introduce the examples of conflicts of their interests,
- to define the connection of the autoevaluation and the external evaluation and metaevaluation,
- to explain various approaches to the evaluation of the teachers' work quality,
- to explain the teachers' professional development (introduction into the profession, life- long education etc.),
- to define the effective forms of teachers' professional development (on the base of TALIS),
- to explain the action research as the instrument of teachers' professional development.
Skills
- to use the instruments for giving evidence of the professional performance, including the professional portfolio,
- to use the chosen evaluation instruments,
- to be able to give evidence for the pluses and minuses of external differentiation in the Czech education.
