Course content
1. Clinical Psychology as the application of psychological sciences, and as the response to needs of practice. 2. History of the field in the world and in the Czech Republic. 3. General principles of psychological development as the basis for the recognition of mental disorders. 4. Psychology of ill and disabled people. 5. Psychological aspects of psychosomatic disorders in childhood and adulthood. 6. Disorders of cognitive functions in childhood and adulthood. 7. Emotional disorders and behavioral disorders in childhood and adulthood. 8. Eating disorders (Anorexia nervosa, Bulimia nervosa). 9. Problems caused by alcohol, other addictive substance, and gambling. 10. Psychological diagnostics. A brief survey of clinical and testing methods. 11. Psychotherapy in children and adults. 12. Psychology in terms of services for families with mental or physical handicapped patients. 13. Excursion.

Knowledge
Knowledge of terminology from General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology.
learning outcomes
Students are able to: - orientate themselves in the basis of Clinical Psychology, Psychopathology, Psychological Diagnostics, and Psychotherapy; - correctly understand forms of cooperation with clinical psychologist; - properly apply knowledge from the field of Psychopathology in work with patients; - correctly use clinical diagnostic methods in observation of patient?s personality; - tentatively understand the significance and sense of diagnostic testing methods using by a clinical psychologist.
