Course content
1.Categorization of mental disorders in children and adolescents. 2.Elementary terminology in psychological, special pedagogical and psychiatric findings for the school. 3.Mental deviations - prevention, rehabilitation. 4.Possibilities of detecting and supporting teacher´s role. 5.Eating disorders in students. 6.Addiction in children and adolescents. 7.Pathological emotionality in pupils and students. 8.Neurotic symptoms in students. 9.Students with behavioral disorders. 10.Students with autism spectrum disorder. 11.Pupil with epilepsy. 12.Paranoid thoughts and suicidal tendencies in pupils and students. 13.Posttraumatic conditions in pupils and students.

  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 30 hours per semester

- characterize psychological phenomena and personality structure,
- describe the difficult life situations, their causes and ways of dealing with them.

Knowledge
- clarify the basic concepts found in psychological, psychiatric reports,
- explain the causes of psychological imbalances,
- divide psychological deviations,
- describe obvious signs of incipient addiction and eating disorders in children and adolescents.
- define the characteristics of pathological moods,
- characterize autistic spectrum disorders and behavioral disorders.
Skills
- propose IVP adjustments for pupils with mental and behavioral disorders,
- specify the role of pedagogical assistant in teaching,
- based on the knowledge of the needs of a pupil with epilepsy and a pupil with an autistic spectrum disorder to specify the requirements for the course of the educational process.
