Course content
ubject of the methodology of the foreign language teaching (FLT) and its relationship with other sciences. Main factors of the foreign language teaching (focus on the relationship between teacher and pupil). Competencies of a foreign language user. Role of mother tongue in the foreign language teaching, interlingua. Introduction to the development and characteristics of methodological movements. Contemporary approaches and tendencies in foreign language teaching/learning. Conceptual questions in methodology of FLT. Methodology of FLT as scientific, learning and practical discipline. Relationship of methodology of FLT with other sciences. Linguistic basis of methodology of FLT. Pedagogical and psychological basis of methodology of FLT. Main factors of language teaching. Classification of a foreign language teacher. Development of methodological movements till the second half of the 20th century. J.A.Komenský. Contemporary trends and approaches. Humanization of FLT.

learning outcomes
Students are able to use Czech as well as Russian methodological terminology. Students orientate themselves in the history of foreign language teaching. They are able to characterise the factors in teaching process.
