Course content
1. The speciality of Russian people´s poetic art and rhetoric. (The reading and analysis of the Russian people´s song.) 2. The survey of gernes of Russian folklore. The reading, translation and analysis of people´s proverbs and the herbs. 3. - 4. The characteristic of people´s fairy tales, legends, poetry. The rise of literature in Russia. (The reading and analysis of the fairy tales, legends and poetry.) 5. The classification of old Russian literature (10th - 18th century). (The reading and translation the part of chronicle The Legend from Early Years.) 6. The analysis and interpretation of the epos The Word About Igor´s Regiment. 7. - 8. The characteristic of the main gernes (chronicles, war stories, didactic gernes, travels). (The reading and translation the fragments of war stories The Legend of Battle on the River Kalke and Zadonština.) 9. The feature of the church in the literary development. (The reading of apocryphas.) 10. The original and translated literature. (The reading and translation of the story The Legend About Gore- Zločastii.) 11. - 12. Classicism and its main representatives. The part of classicism by the forming of the "new" Russian literature. (The reading and translation of the odes.) 13. Summary.
