Course content
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with legal regulation and practical situations arising in the preparation of water management structures, water utilization, protection of waters, and protection against the harmful effects of water, overlapping between public and private law. During the course, practical problems will be discussed and solved from water users´ point of view as well as from public authorities´, water authorities´ and river basin administrators´ point of view. Important mission of the course is also to teach students to work with water legal regulation, case law and literature.

Knowledge
- The student will acquire a knowledge about the legal regulation of Water Law and its application in practice in the most common life situations, especially in the preparation of water management structure and utilization of water and duties in the operation of water management structures; - The student realizes the nature of dualism of law and its application in practice, when Water Law is formed partly by public law (permitting processes, crisis management, sanction proceedings, etc.) and partly by private law (water rights, property rights settlement, claims for damages, etc.); - The student will gain experience in the process of harmonization of various public (and private) interests in solving water-related situations.

- Can analyze the case; - Is able to choose the appropriate procedural procedure and revise the fulfillment of conditions of the proceeding; - Recognizes contentious issues of the chosen case from the substantive law point of view; - Applies substantive law to a particular case; - He/she is able to suggest possible solutions; - Evaluates all its submissions and decisions following the case-law; - Publicly presents the conclusions risen; - Can make a decision on the matter and justify it in terms of factual and legal.
