1. Philosophical bases of socio-economic studies 2. Theory and empiricism as tools of social cognition 3. Cultural and historici background of development, cultural heritage 4. Terminology and definitionas 5. Socialisation and normative foundations of the society 6. Approaches to the study of social groups and social structures 7. Social stratification, mobility and their reflection in the management of society 8. Communication and participation in public administrativ 9. Political, administrative and sociological aspects of the theory of elites 10. Organizations, institutions, the problem of bureaucracy 11. The political organization of society 12. Economic aspects of organization and development of society 13. Public administration and governance 14. Socio-economic trends and the effectiveness of public administration

learning outcomes
During the study the students learn the basics of the perception of public administration from the point of view of social sciences. Understanding of fundamental aspects of societal development enables students orientation in the complex problems of social economic and political aspects of public administration. Students will learn the basic conceptual structure in relation to the substantive issues of governance. Obtaining a basic knowledge will enable them to apply a qualified approach to the analysis of specific problems and administrative agenda. The course constitutes a knowledge base for related courses for regional studies and public administration.
