The contents is separate up to five blocks 1. Social policy and its basic framework: Social problems, critical situations in the peoples life. The individual, the family, the governance and other subjects and objects of social policy. The relation to other branches of science Values and ideology: Freedom, (In)equality and social justice as the basic values from which the approach to social policy results.. Seminar: Unemployment as social event. Unemployment as social problem and individual experience Labour Market and policy of employment. European strategy of employment and the Czech Republic. 2. Genesis of European social policy: The development of ideas and development of institutions. The Czech social policy and its contribution in the period between the wars. Current social policy: Social reform after 1989. Social doctrine. Seminar: Maternity as a social event. Family Policy in the Czech Republic. Maternity benefits, maternity protection. 3 . Social policy and welfare state. Crisis of welfare states. Criticism of WS. Current problems and tendencies in the development of welfare states. Neo-conservativism and social corporatism. Social policy as practice: Main objectives, functions and principles of social policy.. Instruments of social policy. Social security as the core of social policy. Seminar: Age and ageing as a social event.. Social aspects of ageing. Pension systems and thein financing and organization. Pension systems reform. Social services and seniors 4. Health policy and administration. Genesis of european health policy. Health policy reform after 1989. Current problems and tendencies in the development of health policy and administration International organizations and institutions influencing social and health policy in the Czech Republic.
