Course content
1. Introduction, presentation of the course and conditions of completion 2.-3. Theory and method in modern sociology - contemporary paradigmatic structure 4. Basic questions of methodology of science 5. The principle of complementarity 6. Anticipation in sociological theories 7. Language of empirical research 8. Operationalization and its problems - three types of criticism of operationalism 9. Problems in quantitative approaches 10. Problems in qualitative approaches 11.-12. Understanding and interpretation - hermeneutics 13. Ranking vs. non-evaluative approach
