Course content
1. Introduction into art history. Art of prehistory. 2. Art of Egypt and Mesopotamia. 3. Aegean art: from Mycenae to Athens. 4. Etruscan and Roman art. 5. Early Christian and Byzantine art. 6. Pre-romanesque art in Europe. 7. Romanesque art in Europe. 8. Pre-romanesque and romanesque art in Bohemia and Moravia. 9. Gothic in Europe. 10. Gothic in the Czech region. 11. The rise of the renaissance in Italy. Quattrocento art. 12. Development of the renaissance. Cinquecento art. 13. Summary, repetition.
