1. Introduction - basic characteristics of Jewish law. 2. Introduction - characteristics and differences of Islamic law, its origin and development of Islamic jurisprudence and legal schools. 3. Life in the Jewish community. Bej Din as an arbitral institution 4. Life in a Muslim community. Judiciary yesterday and today 5. Rules of everyday life - dietary law (kashrut) and clothing rules 6. Rules of everyday life - Permissible and prohibited in Islamic law (dietary law and rules of dress) 7. Personal status law - Jewish family law I. 8. Personal status law - Jewish family law II. 9.
