Course content
- introductory lesson - organization of the lessons, place, material and hygiene conditions, safety - massage, history, physiological principles, kinds of massage - anatomical and physiological conditions for massage - indication and contraindication of massage - massage techniques - stroking, kneading, brushing, rhythmic tapping and vibrating - support massage means - overview of basic massage techniques in individual countries - to practically master massage of basic parts (back, neck, upper and lower limbs, chest and abdomen) - practical fulfillment of credit requirements. -credit test.

  • Practical training (number of hours) - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for formative assessments (2-20) - 20 hours per semester

Knowledge
to understand the subject matter of anatomy and physiology at the level of the student of sport oriented university
to understand and expain basics of structural and functional problems of the musculoskeletal system
Skills
to show the position of the major muscle groups on the human body
to orientate him/herself on the human body with use of palpation - in the range of basic anatomy curriculum at the level of the student of sport oriented university

Knowledge
to theoretically explain the basic problems of therapeutic and sports massage
to orientate in problems of support massage means and basic therapeutic and manipulative techniques
to justify the use and application of methodology of compensatory exercises in the basic procedures of massage techniques
Skills
to practically demonstrate basic massage touches of sports massages of all major muscle parts
to practically apply and use support massage means
to apply methods of stretching and mobilization exercises to practical massage techniques
