Course content
1. Beginnings of artistic expression, art of prehistoric times. 2. The art of ancient civilizations. 3. Early Christian, pre-Romanesque and Romanesque art. 4. Gothic art in Europe. 5. Early and High Renaissance (including the Alpine). 6. Mannerism and Baroque in Europe. 7. Baroque in Bohemia. 8. Rococo and classicism. 9. Romanticism. 10. Realism of the 19th century. 11. Impressionism and post-impressionism 12. Sculpture and architecture of the 19th century. 13. Excursion to the gallery.

Knowledge
to clarify the typology and periodization of the development of fine art from prehistoric times to the 19th century;
to name the main representatives of fine art from the antiquity to the 19th century and describe their artwork;
to characterize visual arts in various periods of art history and to make their time classification;
to describe the development of art expression in a historical context.

to make a time classification of an artwork with the aid of formal analysis;
to make a formal analysis of some artworks.
