Course content
1. The art of the first half of the 15th century in the Netherlands /Flemish primitives) and its repercussions in Europe. Early and High Italian Renaissance (architecture, painting, sculpture). 2. Late Renaissance and Mannerism in 16th century Italy - church, court, reformed Rome. 3. Renaissance, Mannerism and the Reformation in the art of Zalpa. Between the Gothic tradition and humanism. 4. Art and the time of Rudolf II. The Prague Art Centre, art transfers and the art trade 5. The rise of the Counter-Reformation - the Baroque in Italy and Spain. Architecture, painting and sculpture in the Apennine Peninsula and Spanish painting 6. Cartesian rationalism - compositional discipline and expressive artistry. France and England under the influence of Baroque art. Painting, sculpture and graphic production in the style of Louis XIV. 7. Teathrum mundi . Relationship between macrocosm and microcosm. Baroque space in a complex view - dynamism, illusionism, monumentality, ostentation, intersection of curves, interpenetration of spaces, contrast of light and shadow, rich decoration. 8. The Golden Age of Painting. Dutch Baroque. Flanders, Dutch Republic. The art market and genre as a topic of artistic specialization.8. The phenomenon of the Czech Baroque - important personalities of Baroque culture in a broader context (painting and graphic, production, architecture, stucco and sculpture) 9. Rococo. The birth of Rococo and its origins. Art production in architecture, hanging, wall, ceiling painting, sculpture and stucco 10. Art in the Age of Enlightenment - historicism and traditionalism. Neoclassicism and Pre-Romanticism - from objective order to subjective experience. 12. Romanticism and the Pre-Raphaelites. Painting, architecture, sculpture. Architecture in the service of the Industrial Revolution 13. Realism, Impressionism. Photography as a source of mass artistic production.
