Course content
1. Introduction to the issue of media pedagogy at school with a focus on critical-receptive and artistic-creative activities in school education 2. Czech system of media pedagogy and education, development and present 3. Effects of mass media, audiences and control of media institutions 4. Media content, forms and genres in the media 5. Significance of semiotic analysis of media messages for educational practice 5. Visual literacy and multimedia 6. Multimodal concept of multimedia communication analysis in media pedagogy 7. Audiovisual rhetoric of television news and advertising 8. Photography, photomontage and photojournalism 9. Film, animation, music video and audiovisual education 10. Visual rhetoric and manipulation of printed media 11. The visuals and risks of computer games 12. The role of the Internet, social networking risks and mediated communication
