Course content
1. Form and content. What's a good graphic design 2. Hierarchy of text, image, accented information 3. The purpose of graphic design, printed matter, 4. Dynamic and static composition 5. Function and font development 6. Font, font types, font and its selection or combination 7. Sorting fonts into word elements. Book font, advertisement, and promotion 8. Experimental typography 9. Color in graphic design 10. Graphic stylization - ornament, pictogram, typographic exercises - monogram, typographic composition 11. Unified visual style - logotype, business card, flyer, invitation, etc.) 12. How do we influence people's thinking? Graphic design in pedagogical practice 13. Excursions in the printer, DTP workplace, advertising company. Examples of seminar exercises: - Design of a business card, New Year's Eve, letter paper and envelope, wedding announcement. - Invitation, menu, theater program proposal. - Designs of flyer, poster. - Design of diploma, calendar, catalog.

to explain advanced graphics software (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop);
Skills
to use the form in accordance with the content and purpose - according to the content and purpose of the print, to choose dynamically or statically the composition, to choose the appropriate types of fonts and to combine them appropriately;
to stylize the selected motif originally, to be unambiguous, visually distinct and easily remembered;
to choose rationally and functionally a balanced, harmonic or dramatic, expressive color solution;
to develop graphical solutions in sketch variants, respond appropriately and inventively to proofreading suggestions and can, in accordance with the requirements set forth, make suggestions in graphically pure and formally precise definitions;
to apply the tasks of applied graphics even in their pedagogical practice.
