Course content
1. Fine arts and art education. What is "artistry", what is "art"? Artistic expression of the artist and artistic expression of the child; 2. Piaget's stages of development of thought operations and the development of children's artistic expression; 3. Signs of children's artistic expression. Diagnostic possibilities of children's drawing; 4. Typology of personality and typology of artistic expression; 5. Prerequisites and dispositions for aesthetic activities and factors of their development; 6. Parameters of contemporary art education? Art education in curriculum documents in international comparison. Art education in RVP ZV. Contribution of art education to general education; 7. Visual communication and visual literacy. Image as a medium; 8. Creativity and the possibilities of its development in art education. Development of children's creative abilities, stages of the creative process; 9. Changes in concepts of art education during the 20th and 21st centuries, concepts and currents in art education; 10. School and out-of-school art education. Structure of educational activities. Didactic means of preparation and implementation of art education - methods and forms of teaching; 11. Means of artistic expression, art and artistic expression, mediation of art. Didactic reconstruction of artistic contents. Specifics of gallery and museum education; 12. Decision-making of the lecturer and the teacher in the course of art education, teaching situations in art education; 13. Evaluation and classification in art education. Reflective dialogue.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 15 hours per semester
  • Preparation for an examination (30-60) - 25 hours per semester

to compare and evaluate the visual and artistic means of art;
to use artistic means of expression for the purpose of communication;
to communicate and discuss the issues of children's artistic expression;
to identify the characteristic features of the various movements of modern art.

to search for and work with specialist resources in a creative way.
