Course content
Subject content 1.-13. Introduction about material, relations to previous disciplines, basic instructions. Examples of historical print, watching a document about limestone. Basic procedures of making the matrix and preparation for print. Excursion to a stone print workshop in Prague. Large size print from stone and metal sheet. Variety of printing materials. Relation of digital image, photography and stone print. Reviving and conservation of old drawings on stone. Individual work on stone without machine equipment. Combination of intaglio, relief printing and chemical print. Watching two documents about workshops in France and the U.S.A. Preparation and realisation of semester task.

the position of discipline in the historical context and in relation to other disciplines and the use of the same principle in polygraphic practice, knowledge of the development of lithography, technical and technological procedures and their comparison with other methods, individual workflows leading to the image re-creation, understand the relationships between related techniques and the possibilities of combining current and traditional practices
