Course content
1. Pigments. 2. Types of materials. 3. Resins, balsams. 4. Waxes and asphalts. 5. Adhesives and starches. 6. Oils. 7. Watercolor. 8. Gouache. 9. Tempera soluble and insoluble. 10. Editing data for tempera, imprimitury. 11. Egg emulsion. 12. Wax emulsion fix. 13. The final summary.

  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester

equip the basic knowledge of general history and art history at the level of secondary education, to acquire basic knowledge of technical and technological procedures in painting, at the basic level, to compare and analyze various painting art expressions in terms of aesthetic, semiotic and technical, to specify basic knowledge of supporting arts disciplines, to demonstrate basic knowledge of the art and style canons in the context of the development of artistic and applied arts in connection with general history

to work systematically on either seminar work or own learning, to show interest in learning of theory of problematics usable in own practical work as an inspiration, to use basic expresive means and options of illustration and its different forms, to work independently and activelly and flexibly react to evaluating commentary of the teacher,

the distinction of artistic styles and expressions in different stages of development, students, through examples of specific techniques, materials, and demonstrations on examples from the historical development of painting: - they characterize the techniques and technologies of production and preparation of materials that co-authored the stylistic changes of painting, recognize and characterize painting techniques in painting on portable mats as well as wall painting, characterize pigments and other raw materials for surface painting, color bonding, fixing and surface finishing
Skills
to identify the development stages of painting, to list different types of substrates, to describe techniques with water-soluble paints on a paper or wood mat, to include events, artistic trends and personalities in the timeline of historical development, to define and name elements, styles, methods and techniques in each developmental stage, to evaluate the contribution of individual personalities to the development of the field
