Course content
Students of master's program can enroll in this course as in so-called second studio. Weeks 1 - 13 1. Introduction to basic concepts and principles of engineering drawings and the emergence of an authentic work of art. Drawing and its possibilities in the context of all artistic disciplines. 2. Technological fundamentals. What I draw on, what I draw with. Charcoal drawing exercises. 3. Distinction between dry and wet materials for drawing. Fixation and treatment of drawings. Exercises in shape and light contrasts. 4. Basics of drawing images. Rule of balance. Grouping into format. Observing the whole. Exercises on spatial and compositional variations of studio still lifes. 5. Point and line. Abstract studio exercises on the theme of still life or part of landscape. 6. Figurative and non-figurative. Artist's distinctive graphic style. 7. Surface, shape and space in figurative and non-figurative pictures. 8. Light and color in figurative and non-figurative pictures. 9. Harmony, order and compositional variation towards originality of expression. 10. Authenticity of drawings and the ability of visual expressive gesture or impressive variations. Color extreme. Destruction of form and entropy component in drawing and art. 11. Principle of figuration. Magnification, exaggeration and stylization. 12. Thematic drawing composition as a manifestation of a structured creative thinking. 13. Inspiration. Free work or cycle. Imagination. Free cycle. Extensions and variations. Importance of artist's attitudes and responses to authority.

to equip basic drawing procedures reproduce the names and definitions of the basic building elements of the art language in drawing and their combinations to bring together basic knowledge of supporting arts disciplines compare the results achieved on the given field of creation (both own and foreign) to apply knowledge about basic illustratorial morphology when designing the assigned task

to make drawing sketch of own compositional proposals on a given topic to make a research for a given topic, to explain basic problematics of given topic on the basis of criteria, select appropriate proposals and work with their variations to realize the final picture (series of images) install your work into a simple exposure

about project planning (sketch, preparation, drawing technics, fixation) about basic drawing techniques and their usage in art expression on how to adjust and expose the work, about the historical and contemporary styling canons of drawing and its translations into other media, status of drawing in context of art in history and today

plans and implements a project of simple art task with drawing expressive means, divides his work into individual steps of the procedure takes into account the techniques and technologies used, emphasizes the principles of drawing expression in terms of illusive imaging, work with space and use of basic compositional principles, verifies the possibilities of expressing the creative intent only by drawing and by means of cross-hatching, uses basic drawing techniques reflects its work in historical and contemporary context, is aware of the possibilities of these connections in its own creation reflects its work in the context of professional, technical and technological processes, looking for suitable solutions with erudition presents his work to the professional community is able to accept and harshly use evaluation and critical response
