Course content
The term and concept of minorities and minority rights, definition of basic terms. Brief historical analysis in the concept of protection of minorities. Current substantive legislation and position of minorities within the UN, the Council of Europe, OSCE, EU. Current legislation and procedural law in protection of minorities under the international law. Czech legislation of protection of minorities. Institutions and instruments of enforcement of the protection of minorities in the EU and the Czech Republic, an assessment of the current state of protection of minorities in the EU - the European Commission Reports. Topical analysis of particular European primary and secondary legislation regarding the protection of minorities.
