Course content
|
Lectures: 1. Literature for children and young peple, its definition, fiction, the child aspect and its development, definition of intentionalism; 2. Literature genres, building of genre awareness, some aspects of poetism, literary work and its structure, engaging the child´s aspect in the structure of a literature work as a symbol and as a matter; 3-5 Fairy tale in oral tradition, classic and author adaptations, genre diversity, differences between classic and author adaption writer, children´s and academic editions, writers in the Czech and world literature, classic editions and their illustrators; 6-8 Artificial faiy tale (author´s fairy tale), genre characteristics, comparison with folk fairy tale, use of untraditional approaches (for example nonsense), Czech and World writers up to now; 9-10 Antique and Oriental myths, adaptations and their authors, consideration of child aspect and the symbolic level of mythical stories (creating analogy with living and historical situations, ideally with regard to preteens); 11 Biblical stories as a source of artistic allusions and part of cultural awareness, Czech and World adaptations (including humorous paraphrases and travesties), and their authors; 12.-13. Fantasy literature, subject schemes, mostly world authors; In several lectures we work with artistic texts from children´s literature, we present different methodological uses of these texts in pedagogical practice. Lectures designed in this way substitute the missing (not scheduled) seminars.
