Course Introduction and Note-taking Spelling, Vocabulary, and Common Confusions Summarizing and Verb Tenses Presentations and Expanding Vocabulary Noun Phrases and Word Families Formal vs. Informal English Reading Skills: Skimming and Scanning Sentence Structures and Punctuation Problem-Solving and Proposal Writing Report Writing and Presentations

  • Contact hours - 52 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 30 hours per semester

Understanding of basic grammar rules such as sentence structure and verb tenses.
Knowledge of essential academic and general vocabulary.
Knowledge of how to identify main ideas and summarize texts.

Understanding of basic academic terminology, such as "formal vs. informal language" and "academic writing conventions."

Understanding of grammar rules including sentence structure, verb tenses, and word order.
Familiarity with vocabulary sufficient to engage in conversations and understand texts.
Ability to write clear, coherent sentences and basic paragraphs.
