Week 1 Introductory class. Presentation of the course, familiarization with the curriculum and requirements for completing the course. Scientific style - basic characteristics, language patterns. Text work. Week 2 Rhetorical style: presentation. Rules and methods of presentation, its form and content. Week 3 Numbers and units. Declension of the counted subject. Week 4 Working with numbers, percentages, decimal numbers, chart and graph description. Week 5 Definition and its use. Relative clauses. Week 6 Terms and declension of words of foreign origin. Week 7 Pronunciation of international words. Midterm test. Week 8 Declension of words of foreign origin - revision and other phenomena. Week 9 Abbreviations and acronyms. Week 10 Work with scientific text, selected syntactic problems. Week 11 Scientific literature, university library and internet resources. Text formatting. Week 12 Revision. Final test. Week 13 Test correction. Evaluation.
