Course content
1. Introduction. Communicative activities. Celebrations and feasts. Direct object. 2. Birthday. Expressing likes. Indirect object. Vocabulary relater to cooking and recipes. 3. Civilisation: French calendar. Feasts and celebrations. Extraordinary stories.Present tense: conditional. 4. Polite requests and advice. Describing movement. At the weekend: suggesting, accepting and refusing. 5. Vocabulary related to humour. Civilisation: play on words, fun. Meaning of colours. Indirect speech. 6. Constructions ´faire+verb, laisser+verb´. Misunderstandings. Reconciliation. French: viewpoint of other nations. 7. Revision Unit 1. - 4. Midterm test. 8. French cinema. 21st century adventure: attempts to beat records. Expressions of success and failure. 9. Subjunctive: forms, use. Expressing will, duties, and feelings. Conjunctive: part 2. Expressing fear. Encouraging. 10. Sports: newspaper articles. Civilisation: the French and sports. The French and house chores. 11. Expressions of ownership. Neutral pronouns dependent and independent. 12. Unsatisfied France´: social issues. Civilisation: a part of a French film dealing with social issues. Working with texts. Credit test. 13.
