Course content
1. Introduction to Latin medical terminology. History of Latin medical terminology. Pronunciation and stress in Latin. Latin nouns - classification. Nouns of 1st declension; Greek nouns belonging to Latin 1st declension; conjugation of the verb esse. 2. Nouns of 2nd declination. Greek nouns belonging to Latin 2nd declension. 3. Adjectives of 1st and 2nd declension. Passive perfect participle. 4. Verbs of 1st- 4th conjugations I. Indicative of present active and passive; imperatives and negative imperatives; conjunctive present active. 5. Nouns of 4th and 5th declension. Overview of anatomical terms. 6. Nouns of 3rd declension - masculines, feminines, neutra. 7. Greek nouns belonging to Latin 3rd declension. Greek word basics. Translation of diagnoses. 8. Progress test. Adjectives of 3rd declension. Active present participle. 9. Adjectives - comparatives and superlatives: regular, irregular, incomplete. 10. Numerals: cardinal, ordinal, multiple. 11. Latin affixation and suffixation. Prescriptions.
