Course content
1. Introduction to Latin medical terminology. History of Latin medical terminology. Pronunciation and stress in Latin. Latin nouns - classification. Nouns of 1st declension; Greek nouns belonging to Latin 1st declension; conjugation of the verb esse. 2. Nouns of 2nd declination. Greek nouns belonging to Latin 2nd declension. 3. Adjectives of 1st and 2nd declension. Passive perfect participle. Adverbs derived from adjectives of 1st and 2nd declension - lexically. 4. Verbs (mainly the forms of imperative and the 3rd person of conjunctive present active; abbreviated forms used in medical terminology). 5. Nouns of 4th and 5th declension. 6. Nouns of 3rd declension - masculines, feminines. 7. Nouns of 3rd declension - neutra. 8. Greek nouns belonging to Latin 3rd declension.. 9. Adjectives of 3rd declension 10. Active present participle. 11. Adjectives - comparatives and superlatives: regular, irregular, incomplete. 12. Numerals. 13. Latin prefixes and suffixes. Prescriptions. 14. Credit test. Greek affixes and suffixes. 15. Compound words. Greek word basics.
