Cílem této bakalářské práce je představit svobodu ze dvou hledisek. První skrze myšlenky Benjamina Constanta a jeho práci The Liberty of Ancients as Compared With That of Moderns. Druhé hledisko je skrze Isaiaha Berlina a jeho text Čtyři eseje o svobodě. V textu jsou porovnávány koncepty pozitivní a negativní svobody, jakož i antické a moderní pojetí svobody. Poté jsou dány do kontextu s koncepcemi liberálního a republikánského politického myšlení s cílem odpovědět, zda se s výsledkem shodují výzkumné předpoklady. Práce je teoretická a pracuje výhradně s knižními zdroji.

The aim of this thesis is to introduce freedom from two points of view. First through the thoughts of Benjamin Constant and his work The Liberty of Ancients as Compared With That of Moderns. The second point is of Isaiah Berlin and his text Four Essays on Freedom. The concepts of positive and negative freedom, as well as an ancient and modern concept of freedom are compared in the text. After that, all of the previous concepts are put in the context of the concepts of liberal and republican political thought with the aim of finding an answer to whether the result correponds with the previous research assumptions. The work is theoretical and works exclusively with book resources.
