Key learning outcomes
|
The graduate demonstrates a deep understanding of art and artistic activities in human life and society in general education. He/she acquired competences within his/her field, and is able to conduct a professional discussion about the importance of art and artistic activities in general education while using professional and convincing arguments. He/she is able to identify situations that need a qualified third party opinion based on critical self-reflection. He/she also demonstrates a considerable degree of understanding for the culturally and professionally different opinions. The graduate demonstrates knowledge and understanding of evaluation criteria of aesthetic qualities of a work of art, as well as modern didactic methods and criteria for didactic evaluation of teaching texts and aids intended for elementary and secondary schools. The graduate shows his/her psycho-didactic knowledge of pupils and students. He/she understands the particularities and specific demands in teaching pupils and students of that age. The graduate is ready to work with an assistant, special education teacher and other experts within the framework of the inclusive education. Based on his/her studies of didactics, the graduate is able to prepare an art lesson that he/she will later execute and reflect upon in his/her teaching practice. He/she can find and identify the basic structural elements of teaching (topic, art technique, art problem etc.) and important contents. He /she determines the meaning and aim of model learning situation and its possible impact on the pupils of elementary schools and high school students. He/she considers the work theme regarding the relationship of appropriate crosscutting topics supported by the curriculum. The graduate proposes a preparatory model of educational framework and individual steps in teachers practice. He/she understands the terminology and is able to explain the content of concepts logically in the cognitive context of the field and within a wider interdisciplinary and philosophical context. He/she uses special terms respectively criteria for the analysis, interpretation, explanation, judgment and evaluation within the model or real situations. He/she can remember facts of the historical development of art education and related artistic disciplines. He/she can explain those regarding the current state and development o the field. Based on his/her own artistic practice he/she can link themes with appropriate technological processes regarding all the media. Afterwards he/she can verify their use in teaching practice. The graduate analyzes and critically examines specific expressive possibilities of new media and compares them with traditional creative technologies in the context of visual art education activities. He/she he understands specifics of communication and learning through digital technology. He/she is able to design a teaching model with use of such technology on the basis of complete didactic analyses of the topic, technique and teaching process. He/she can formulate methodological approaches and teaching goals. He/she can chain proposed models of teaching unites into meaningful complexes that will support development of particular competences in pupils and students. He/she critically reviews contemporary art practice and is able to choose suitable topics for his/her own teaching practice. He/she can adjust these topics to be used together with multi media technology. He/she also creates an image of his/her own teaching approach with the use of multi media technology and is able to explain such approach in the context of contemporary discourse over the issue - he/she understands the philosophical, sociological, educational and other contexts in art education.

Profile of the programme
|
This study programme is designed as an academic one. It consists of block of theoretical courses dealing with the field of interpretation and analysis of picture, and work with artistic artefact as a means of influence, cognition and self cognition, field history, field didactic and theory, and of block courses dealing with art creation in discipline elected by student, drawing, painting, graphics, multimedia and three-dimensional production. At the same time, it comprises a block of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice and on acquiring skills that the graduate can apply in position of teacher of Art Education in elementary and secondary schools. The programme also includes practical training. After successfully completing this study programme, the graduate can apply position of teacher of Art Education in elementary and secondary schools, teaching subjects Art Education and another specialization.
