Course content
This course is designed for students of the post-gradual study in Archaeology (study program Historical Sciences) or for students of other related sciences (social and cultural anthropology, modern history). It is focused on archaeology and artifactual elements of the culture of the colonies in the New World from discovery of America up to the 19th century. 1. Historical archaeology overseas ? definition, approaches, topics 2. English colonies in the North America 3. Archaeology of beginnings and formation of the USA 4. Indians and the white settlers. 5. Plantations and slaves ? archaeology of the Afro ? American culture 6. French colonies in the North America 7. Archaeology of the Holland colonies (North America and South Africa) 8. Spaniards in the New World ? North America 9. Spaniards in the New World ? Central and South America 10. Chinese overseas 11. Archaeology of the colonial Australia 12. Underwater archaeology ? shipwrecks and their informational potential
