Course content |
1. Chemistry as a natural science. 2. Historic period of development of chemistry as a science. Period of chemistry. Stage of the oldest chemistry - Antiquity. 3. Alchemy, iatrochemistry. 4. The emergence of scientific chemistry; pneuchemistry, phlogiston´s theory. 5. Period of building strong grounds of scientific chemistry - basic chemical laws. 6. Development of chemistry in the 19th century. 7. Chemical discoveries at the end of the 19th century and in the 20th century. 8. Outstanding chemists and physicists and their contribution to the development of chemistry. 9. History of discoveries of chemical elements and compounds. 10. Brief history of basic chemical mode of production. 11. The concept of the chemical industry. Production of chemicals in the Czech Republic. 12. The current state of play in the development of chemistry, its tasks and outlook.
