Key learning outcomes
|
The graduates show the understanding and knowledge in basic concepts and methods used in various chemical disciplines. They know the principles of nomenclature making of inorganic and organic compounds, the graduates are able to use the periodic system of elements and they can interpret the laws resulting from its arrangement, thanks to the knowledge of atomic and molecular structure they can specify the properties of substances, they can apply and explain principles of the equilibrium and chemical kinetics. The graduates are able to describe the basic procedures for qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis and they know the production technologies of selected inorganic and organic chemicals. They know the present and perspective possibilities of the use of main products of chemical industry and related industry segments. They are able to seek out the information, to study special literature, to interpret this literature and apply to the solution of the given chemistry theme. On the basis of literature research, data collection and data evaluation the graduates are able to write extensive scholarly text. They are able to evaluate their communication skills, to collect and analyze information critically, to formulate arguments and to present teamwork. They can orientate in other fields of science and they have the primary knowledge from pedagogical and psychological disciplines. They have skills in one of the world languages. They can use the components of modern information technology. They have the ability to take the advantage of their knowledge and disposition in connection with the choice of further curricular development.

Profile of the programme
|
This study programme is designed as an academic one. It consists of blocks of theoretical courses dealing with the basic chemical areas (General Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Chemical Technology).At the same time, it comprises a block of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice and on acquiring skills that the graduate can apply in various areas of Chemistry (for example Chemical Lab, Chemical Environment). The programme also includes practical training. This study programme is designed to equip the future graduate with theoretical background and skills necessary for study in a follow-up Master's study programme particularly in field of study Teacher Training in Chemistry for Basic Schools and for Secondary Schools. The graduate is prepared for studying at universities focused on chemical domains.
