Course content
The following topics will be discussed: Zeno's aporias; platonism; dialektics; causality; sylogistics; axiomatization and deduction; geometry; the fifth postulate of the Euclid geometry.

Course requires no special prior knowledge and skills.
learning outcomes
Students will learn how to work with source texts on ancient formal thinking. They will be able to explain the principles of the axiomatic method and deduction, which is so significant for the European scientific tradition. Students will gain the detailed knowledge of ancient logic and methodology. They will be able to summarize and relate ancient concepts and systems with the key tendentions of the European mind history.
