Key learning outcomes The graduates gain a wide knowledge of European culture based on an interdisciplinary approach. They are able to analyse and evaluate texts, material as well as spiritual artefacts from the point of view of their structure, connection to history and contemporary European culture. They are able to use their knowledge and skills to solve practical questions from the cultural, social, administrative and economic life of regions, to suggest unconventional solutions to problems. They are able to make independent decisions and solve concrete situations in cultural life, explain and advocate the chosen interpretation in front of professionals as well as lay public; they are capable of solving set problems (from the history of and current European culture) as a team using corresponding research methods. They are able to present the results of individual as well as team solutions of historical or theoretical problems in front of professionals or lay public. They are prepared to advocate their findings in front of expert committees or their colleagues. They are able to undertake scientific debate in one of the world languages. The graduates know how to contrive independent research based on the critical analysis of texts and other sources of information, they are able to critically evaluate various concepts and ideological movements, to suggest solutions to problems connected with their influence and activity.

Profile of the programme The program is conceived as academic and it consists of four blocks of theoretical subjects from European spiritual tradition (Christianity, Judaism, Islam); from European philosophical and scientific tradition from history of European art (fine art, literature, music, film, architecture) and from European legal and administrative culture (institutions, administrations and law of European Union). Constituents of study of the program are mandatory practices and research that are focused on one of profile modules. Assets of the program graduate are his communication competencies in two world languages.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is prepared for a direct entering into practice in cultural, administrative and humanitarian institutions. He applies a theoretical knowledge on model situations, he analyzes them, he sums up causes and effects, he suggests methods for effective solutions.
