Course content
|
In lectures the representative theoretical approaches to the interpretation and possibilities of visualizing and sharing results of text analysis will be outlined. Firstly, some relevant philosophical conceptions (logical and grammatical forms (B. Russell, R. Carnap); hermeneutics and (pre)understanding (M. Heidegger, H.-G. Gadamer); picture theory of language (L. Wittgenstein); universe of technical images (V. Flusser); picturing of an infinity and paradox (M. C. Escher), will be summarized. Secondly, origins and principles of the concept and mind mapping (J. D. Novak, T. Buzan), as a tool for graphical presentation of thoughts and the information complex structures by means of links and nods, will be introduced. In tutorials scholar texts of various difficulty will be analyzed and interpreted. Structures, arguments and information of these texts will be creatively visualized by means of concept and mind maps, pictures and diagrams. Except the pencil-paper technique also the freeware tools such as Cayra, SciPlore, FreeMind and XMind will be used. Created maps will be presented, evaluated, compared and interconnected.
