Course content
The course is designed for students who wish to complete MA degree of European Cultural Studies in the respective academic year. It is an oral exam in front of a jury, which each part generally lasts about 15-30 minutes. The course and other requirements of the exam regulated by the Study and Examination Regulations of The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. During preparation for the MA exam, candidates may use individual or group consultation meetings with guarantors of disciplines relating to the exam areas. The final state (MA) exam consists of four parts. Obligatory parts: 1) Defence of the MA thesis work, 2) History of European Culture, 3) European Science and Philosophy. 4) Optional parts: a) History of European Arts, b) European Institutions, Administration, Law, c) The Christian Foundations of Europe.

Knowledge
A student may take the final Master exam after he/she has met all requirements given in the curriculum design of the European Cultural Studies study field set up by the Department of Philosophy and all rules contained in the Study and Examination Statute of the University of West Bohemia.

Successful completion of the MA exam demonstrates that students acquired sufficient knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the requirements of their respective study programmes and study fields.
