Course content
Syllabus of lectures and seminars: 1. Basic division of the music theory. Personalities of the czech music theory. Basis of acustics. 2. Notation. Brief outline of notation development. Major, minor, church, exotic and other scales of notation. 3. Degree ? division, types, enharmonious degrees. 4. Accords ? kvintaccords, septaccords, non-accords, accord turns, other types of accords. 5. Introduction in the study of music kinetics. Hierarchic level of time ordering. Rhythm, metre, time. Polyrhythm. Dynamics and execution denomination. 6. Abbreviations of notation. Systems of tuning. Melodic decorations.

knowledge of basic music notation in the area of pitch and tone length, orientation in basic music teaching at the level of primary art school graduation

Knowledge
The student keeps in mind basic systematics of music theory and understands its principles. He or she explains the terminology of the general music theory, brings it into connections and applies its rules in examples. Everything is realized both in the field of tone highs and lengths, eventually in the field of interpretative instructions.
