Key learning outcomes
|
The graduates demonstrate knowledge and understanding of general linguistic concepts and methods. They are capable of using literary-critical terminology. They also demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Czech language standards. They have a basic knowledge of Czech language history. They understand methodology of literary studies and literary history. They understand main tendencies of contemporary literary development. The graduates demonstrate the ability to analyze written and spoken text. They demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles and the rules of standard orthography and orthoepy. They are able to evaluate written and spoken language. They are able to analyze and evaluate the aesthetic value of artistic text. They are capable to find relevant information on their topic. They demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of the basic literature of the field. They are capable to apply theoretical knowledge to handle specialized topic of the field (Czech language and literature). They demonstrate capability of term paper writing. They are capable to evaluate their own communicative skills. In a teamwork environment, they are capable to collect, process, analyze and use information, to formulate arguments. They are capable to present to the public results of their teamwork. They are competent to Common European Framework level B2 in one foreign language. They understand the potential benefits of ICT use in education. They are capable to evaluate critically their own study results in order to plan their further curriculum development.

Profile of the programme
|
This study programme is designed as an academic one. It consists of blocks of theoretical courses dealing with the basic areas of Czech language and the use of language, literary theory, literary history and literary criticism. At the same time, it comprises a block of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice and on acquiring skills that the graduate can apply in various jobs based on high level of language proficiency or linguistic proficiency. The programme also includes practical training. This study programme is designed to equip the future graduate with theoretical background and skills necessary for study in a follow-up Master's study programme particularly in field of study Teacher Training in Czech Language for Basic Schools and for Secondary Schools.
