Course content
1. Approaches to fine arts I - archetypal, mythical, estheticising, idealistically historical, iconographic and iconologic, expressive. 2. Approaches to fine arts II - structuralist and semantic, postmodern and analytical. 3. Art process and its components - art movements and styles, historical transformation of interpretation of artworks and styles. 4. Artist, individual prerequisites and qualifications - approaches to creation and creativity. 5. Artwork as an artefact - the process of creation of an artwork. 6. Artwork and the process of its diffusion and use. 7. Structuration and effects of an artwork - sensual, psychosomatic and social aspects of an artwork. 8. Phases of functions of an artwork - art as an individual idea, art public, academic style, communication, effectiveness etc. 9. Spectator, qualification to be a spectator - disiterested evaluation of an aesthetic effect. 10. Art education as a part of artistic process - relationship of art education to visual arts in history. 11. Visual artistic process as an experimental research into visual signs. 12. Artwork as a value - institutional, aesthetic, non-aesthetic, functional theory of the the value of artistic creation. 13. Artistic process in pedagogical reflection - didactics of artistic process in education.

to explain the changing concept of art and the position of the artist throughout history;
to explain the causes of changes in the position of art and artist in society;

to name the basic disciplines of visual arts and to describe their historical development;
to describe the main theoretical and methodological approaches to the interpretation of works of art from history to the present;
to enumerate and to describe the main theoretical and methodological procedures in the field of art history.
