Course content
Basic means of expression in film art. Literature and film. Interpretation. 1. Literature and film. Introduction to film aesthetics. 2. Codes of communication. Kabinet dr. Caligariho. 3. Function and usage of the text in the silent film. Upír Nosferatu. 4. Psychological acting in the silent film. Matka. 5. Metaphor. Křižník Potěmkin. 6. Composition, cutting and production. Intolerance. 7. Repeating of communication in the silent film. Baraka, Němý film. Le Bal. 8. Forms of the script. Ginger and Fred, Transport do ráje, Černý Petr, Jízda. 9. - 10. Literature in the Czech film. Perličky na dně, Markéta Lazarová, Adelheid, Ostře sledované vlaky. 10. - 13. Film adaptations of world literature.
