KFI/TVFN

| The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the dynamically developing research of consciousness. Special attention will be paid to both specifically philosophical topics and purely empirical issues. The course assumes that students will be acquainted with the conceptual apparatus of the philosophy of mind and basic knowledge in the fields of cognitive science is welcome. The course focuses on both the standard approaches of this interdisciplinary research and the current debates on how to interpret the research results. Specific methods, theories and concepts used in consciousness research are explained. Part of the course will take place in the form of independent supervised work of students. Self-study will be devoted to continuous detailed reading of compulsory literature. |
