The goal of this course is to introduce the students into the issue of audiovisual technology as one of the means of interpretation of the "social reality", or as one of the means of (re)presentation of an anthropologically relevant knowledge. Together with introduction of the issue of audiovisual tehcnologies and multimedial communication into the conceptual framework of visual anthropology (and the so-called digital ethnography), the course will contain practical training of instrumentalization of photographical, cinematographical and audiovisual technologies in realization of the anthropological research, resp. in interpretation, communication and presentation of an anthropologically relevant data. In the framework of the course, ethnographically relevant movies, audiovisual recordings and web pages/applications will be presented and critically reflected. The meaning of the course is to make the students capable of anthropological interpretation of the "social reality", create their own relevant audiovisual or multimedial product as well as enable them to "read" the studied culture, based on artifacts of audiovisual and electronic character.
