Course content
This course consists of these issues: the system of geological sciences. Introduction to mineralogy. Introduction to Petrology. Tectonics. Structure of the Earth. The Theory of plate tectonics. Morphostructural characteristic of continental and oceanic crust. Mineral deposits. Geological wind action. Geological activity of oceanic and flowing water. Groundwater and karst phenomena. Geological activity of glaciers. Gravitation as a geological factor.

explain the division of minerals and rocks according to origin, basic properties and its distribution
distinguish the main tectonic structures and classify them according to their distribution
describe the Earth structure
explain the weathering process and its specifics in different parts of the Earth
Describe the geological activity of water (marine, flowing, standing and underground)
explain the geological activity of glaciers
describe the significance of gravity as a geological agent

analyze the theory of tectonic plates accenting the spatial distribution of major Earth morphostructures
analyze differences between endogenous agents
analyze differences between exogenous agents
evaluate the impact of natural hazards originating in inanimate nature (stressing its importance in education)
