In this course, students will learn about the fundamentals of the international system and its changes through examples of security issues. Students will learn about the current actors, concepts of national power, and processes affecting international politics (power, leadership, and hegemony in international relations, concepts of power hierarchy, polarity, rising world and regional powers, and the role of the region in international relations), and security challenges faced primarily by the countries of the Indo-Pacific region.
