| The aim of the course is to make students familiar with all important dimensions of intellectual and artistic production of Muslims societies from seven to nineteen century. These comprise various forms of literary production, scientific works, architecture and different crafts, music and so on. Given works or artistic trends are interpreted with the emphasis on the context of their origin. Lectures are accompanied by reading relevant text and discussions. Works with prevailing religious character, that is those theological, juristic and others, and also different pictures of social life in given periods, are presented to the students in other specialized courses. Projections of thematic documentaries are also part of the lectures. |
